Edu, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for including my name in the beautiful narrative surrounding Bravo, Ovation, and Stand Up Spotlight, especially as we celebrate our Dutiful Mothers, Aunties, Sisters, and Wives.

In the intricate varieties of family life, multitasking is an inherent skill that many women embody effortlessly, much like leadership and headship are often associated with men in traditional family dynamics. It’s essential to recognize that homes devoid of the nurturing presence of dedicated mothers, sisters, and wives may possess material wealth but often suffer from a profound lack of emotional and relational well-being. While there are certainly men who can skillfully manage and organize household affairs, these instances are exceptions rather than the norm.

Within my traditional cultural framework, the roles are quite clearly defined: men are seen as the breadwinners, providing for the family financially, while women embody the role of breadkeepers, nurturing the home environment. To grasp the essence of these traditional roles, one must understand that possessing quality sperm does not equate to successfully raising a child. Similarly, the essence of a fulfilling family life requires the active participation and dedication of both men and women.

Creating blissful and peaceful homes should be a mutual concern—an endeavor of both dutiful men and women. The phrase “it takes two to tango” resonates deeply here as it emphasizes that life, with all its complexities and joys, often pairs individuals for a reason. As stewards of our families, we must recognize our responsibilities and operate in harmony with the greater purpose set forth by a higher authority. Working in alignment with the Master’s will, we can create a nurturing environment that fosters love, respect, and understanding among all family members.
