-Help Me Sort Out My Bio.

You may be wondering what is ailing me.

Simple, it is some attitude of ignorance that some may consider as smartness.

However, the easy way to cure ignorance is readiness and willingness to learn and take the necessary action by learning.

When I first joined a social media network I had little or zero knowledge of what bio stands for.

I was a novice trying to navigate from the analog world to the digital world first unguided before it dawned on me that I wasn't making any headway after months I had been connected online.

Even my first trial of having a guide did not yield to me the desired result. One or two trainers I had online did not believe that I was truly an analogical person because I was yet writing stuff that resonated with the youths.

The worst of it all was that I had no money to pay for my training bills online. Therefore, my first-time trainer on Pinterest did not waste time leaving me to my fate as soon as I had issues with the Pinterest Community because my board was littered with unwholesome activities by the infiltrators that invaded my board.

As the saying goes, one's ignorance is his/her mountain.

I left the Internet world three months after I was connected, and it was one whole year before I could return to the Internet world again.

Even when I returned and reconnected, I was farther away from where I was when I first connected. This time around I pitched my tent with Instagram and had a trainer whom I paid so much but gained so little because my site was frequently broken and infiltrated by a sect that wanted me to join them.

Today, my Instagram is there, and my Pinterest reclaimed after five years, but I am not doing much work with them now.

I am here to stay and learn what it takes to be a full and happening member of medium.com. I am barely two months here. My sincere opinion about medium.com is that it is a place to learn, read, write, and grow for interested writers, content creators, and would-be writers.

Then the principal issue why I am disturbed is what a standard bio should contain or look like.

It is disturbing to me because I have seen online some people who are like me in the past until about a year plus ago who are struggling to carve out a standard elevator pitch-like bio for themselves while someone wrote, "My bio is not important."

"My bio (is)not important," is not the best way to go, and leaving the space vacant for years as I did in the past was not better still, rather seek to obtain and have an understanding of the purpose of the bio and carve a beautiful one for yourself.

A bio is a snapshot of your values in letters that should attract positive attention to you and your values.

It is the summary of your brand in a few beautiful, concise, and precise words.

It is your bio that sells you firsthand before you come face-to-face with your clients.

It is important.

It took me one week of seating together with my coach, George Neba, and my bosom friend, Ephraim Rapalai before I could draft my first bio as follows:

I’m a writer and trans-generational trainer on purpose-driven life and peaceful relationships(partly correct but incomplete).

I am a writer and trans-generational trainer in purpose-driven life, especially for youths who need clarity on purposeful living and peaceful relationships, leveraging the power of agreement in the Truth.✅

I still use any of them today depending on the space provided for the bio. However, one is more self-explanatory than the other.

Remember, I called them drafts because there are more things about me than meets the eyes in this never-ending school of life and learning.

Recently, based on the type of writer I am and what I would want to be remembered for. I have the following:

I am a writer with a specialty in the now-family and its values-, and the future-the children and youths' purposes in life-leveraging the power of the Truth.

As you can see, the length of your bio can vary depending on the space but must be reflective of who you are and the value you provide, and for whom and how you go about it. You can see that my first draft was deficient in answering the bio-silent questions of:

Who are you? That focuses on the values you provide;

For whom? Whom will your values address their pain points?

How? The ways and means you go about providing your values.

I believe in this platform of reading, learning, writing, and growing that there are people who are ready and willing to educate others and equally deepen their knowledge too.
